EV-W Public Schools want to continue providing and protecting the programs and staff that students rely on every day.
Simply put, LEVIES ARE FOR LEARNING - we want to keep what we have and continue doing it well! Levy dollars CANNOT be used to fund a sports complex or building projects.
On Tuesday, November 3, voters in the Eden Valley Watkins Public School District will be asked to consider two ballot questions:
A new operating levy referendum that will raise general education revenue by $1,528 per pupil each year for ten years, with an annual adjustment for inflation so the funding keeps pace with rising costs.
In total, this levy would generate approximately $254,000 in funding for our school while decreasing current taxes due to the new Seasonal Tax Base Replacement Aid.
A permanent school fund constitutional amendment. This amendment will allow schools to use investments the state already has from state land and produce sales to increase funding. The money in the fund can only be used by public schools. This amendment will bring $20,000-$25,000 dollars in revenue to EVW without raising taxes.
