Applying for College
October is College Knowledge Month. Many schools offer free applications for the month or at least for some portion of it. Check out the following link for tons of free college exploration resources and financial aid tools:

Letters of Recommendation
Please fill out the form below if you need a letter of recommendation written by Mrs. Braegelmann! (Give Mrs. Braegelmann at least two weeks notice for a letter! :)
Financial Aid
If you are planning on taking out student loans while in college, you will want to fill out the Financial Aid application on the FAFSA Website your senior year. This should be completed between October and December of your senior year.

NCAA
NCAA Registration and Responsibilities
Students who plan to participate in intercollegiate athletics at an NCAA Division I or II institution need to use the new online registration.
To register, prospective student-athletes should access the registration materials at: https://web3.ncaa.org/ecwr3/
The student should click on "Prospective Student-Athletes," completely read and follow all online instructions. If you should have any questions please contact your school counselor.

STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MONITORING THEIR NCAA QUALIFICATIONS 9-12 GRADE
NCAA Registration Timeline:
Grades 9 and 10
Students take academic college-preparatory courses, preferably one in each of the following areas: English, math, science, social studies and foreign language.
Grade 11
Students continue to take college preparatory courses in the areas listed above.
Students register for the SAT and/or ACT.
Students register with the NCAA Eligibility Center and complete both the academic information and the amateurism questionnaire.
Grade 12
Students continue to take college preparatory courses in English, math, science and social studies.
Students register for additional ACT/SAT tests if necessary.
On or after April 1 of the senior year, the student goes back into their Eligibility Center account to update their academic and amateurism information and request final amateurism certification.
After graduation, EVW will send the student’s final transcript (which needs to include evidence and the date that the student graduated) to the Eligibility Center.
Scholarships
In February of your senior year we will go over all of the local scholarship information you will need.
In the meantime, I will continue to post scholarships in the Senior google classroom. You will want to research and find scholarships throughout your senior year, they are all over the place! Check your college, newspaper, radio station, etc.
