Welcome to your (for now) virtual library space. I hope that you had a relaxing and enjoyable summer, even though it was so very different for all of us. I missed you all and I can't wait to connect with you again and to meet new faces.
I hope that you found some comfort and friends in books. One of my favorite quotes about reading comes from a character named William Nicholson in a book called Shadowlands. He said, "We read to know we are not alone." All of us humans on this beautiful planet Earth feel joy, sadness, grief, embarrassment, curiosity, wonder, and all the many other emotions. It's comforting to know that others have felt the way we feel. My favorite book moments are those that make me stop and think, "Yes! That's how it felt. This author gets me!
My wish for you is that you find the books that make you wonder, cry, laugh, cringe and feel along with the characters and that reading helps you discover new things about yourself, your fellow humans, and your world. Let's help each other find great books!
As soon as we can organize a safe way for you to check out books, I will work hard to get those books into your hands. Until then, check out some of the links below for audio books, ebooks, great websites, etc. Please don't hesitate to email me about any help you need. One part of my job is to support you with any technology issues as you start your new class learning with Distance Learning 2.0, so reach out about those issues or any other support you need.
Be well and read well.
