World History
In tenth grade, students apply their deeper understanding of social studies concepts on a global scale. The context in the tenth grade is primarily modern world history from 1450 to the present but it begins with a review of the history of humans to that point in time. Students explore major themes and developments that shaped the world, including human rights, revolution, and democracy, to develop an understanding of the roots of current world issues. Using a deliberative process, students consider multiple accounts of events and issues in order to understand the politics, economics, geography, and history of the world from a variety of perspectives.
