In the second semester of twelfth grade, Contemporary World Issues students focus on economics but also have opportunities to apply what they learn to issues in the world today. In Unit 1, the focus is on basic economic understanding. In Unit 2, students consider various contemporary issues as well as policies developed to address those issues. In Unit 3 students study personal finance as it relates to the broader economy and themselves. Students should graduate ready to become active participants of their communities, the nation, and the world.
