Hi, I'm Ms. Kayla. I have been a school counselor for about six years, mostly in Oakland, California before moving to the PNW two years ago. I am fortunate enough to have earned my bachelor's degree in a forested beach town at UC Santa Cruz, eventually moving on to a more urban setting for my graduate degree at the University of San Francisco. I live in Portland with my husband, dog, and three cats. My favorite hobbies include going out to eat, reading high-fantasy, and traveling. I have mostly explored South-East Asia, as I lived in Indonesia for a year in my twenties. Some of my favorite foods are Indian, sushi, and pizza. My most rewatched movies include Palm Springs, Little Miss Sunshine, and Juno. My favorite aspect of School Counseling is building positive relationships with students and witnessing them grow and evolve over time.

Supporting All Students

Hi, I'm Mrs. Carl! I have been a school counselor for 4 years. This is my second year at Cascade and I love it. I have grown up in the PNW my whole life and am a product of the Evergreen School District myself. I majored in Psychology at Washington State University Vancouver and received my graduate degree in School Counseling from Lewis & Clark College. I love my job, I am so thankful that I get to create meaningful relationships and help kids through the challenging time that is middle school. :) In addition to counseling, I coach volleyball and cheerleading. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being around animals, and being outside. Go Cougs!
