As part of the Counseling program at Everett Area Middle School, a variety of groups will be available to students. A group is composed of 3-9 students who share the same concern or problem. These groups do not treat psychological disorders. The groups will focus on a particular problem which may be personal, educational, or social. The groups are short-term, supportive, and developmental. The goal of the groups is to help children find a way to cope with stresses and teach skills that they can use in everyday life. Groups are optional.
Groups will be held once a week, during a regular school day period. There are usually 6-8 sessions. All information is treated with the strictest confidentiality and the highest respect. Below is a listing of the groups. If your child would like to be involved in a group, or if you want your child to participate, please fill out this form. Groups are anticipating a start date by November. If you have any questions regarding groups – please contact Danielle Simpson, middle school counselor at dsimpson@evererettasd.org.
