Hello!
Welcome to the EAMS Counselor Corner! I am Mrs. Simpson and I am the school counselor at the Everett Area School District for students in grades 5-8. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Education with a dual certificate in K-12 School Counseling. A few ways I help students in my role is by providing Individual and group counseling, classroom lessons around Career education and social/emotional topics, collaborating with parents, guardians, teachers, principals, and outside representatives. I also support and advise the Secret Service club for students in grades 5-8. (The Secret Service Club is a Kindness club where students complete missions throughout the school year that support spreading kindness in the world.) Along with many other hats I wear at the middle school, my favorite thing about my job is being an advocate for students! Please reach out to me with any questions or ways that I can help your child!
When I am not working actively as a school counselor I have many other roles! I am part of the Everett Music Boosters and Everett Girls Basketball Boosters. However, my most favorite activity is being with my family! My family includes, my husband, who also works for the EASD as a middle school Geography teacher, my daughter, and all our fur babies (Our dog, Jackson, and our cats!) I enjoy traveling, hiking, running, eating (Yum! Food), playing piano, playing board games, watching movies, and getting outside in the warm sunlight!
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions, suggestions, or anything you would like to discuss at dsimpson@everettasd.org
With a smile,
Mrs. Simpson
