The following are items we usually have plenty of at the beginning of the year, but these dwindle quickly and frequently need to be replenished:
Large Pencils (I like the round, fat, wood ones from Home Depot - you find them in a small bin on the end of an aisle)
Black dry-erase markers
Elmer's glue sticks
At Back to School Night, you received an envelope for class donation money. This money is shared with all of Kindergarten and helps us to fund materials for special projects and other Kinder-related needs. If you'd like and are able to donate to our funds, you may do so at any time. You're also welcome to make an online donation HERE. Select Greenhills Elementary - Kindergarten Donation. Thanks so much, any little bit helps!
If you'd like to volunteer in the class or on campus, please complete the volunteer form. You must do this even if you volunteered at the school in the past. Once you are cleared to volunteer, you will receive a yellow lanyard. Then, let me know how you'd like to help out.
There are many ways you can help out in the class:
Stuff Wednesday folders - Each Tuesday, take home the Wednesday folders, fill them, and bring them back to me Wednesday morning to send home with students. At least one parent is needed, however, if more than one volunteer, you can switch off weeks.
Cutting, gluing, stapling, collating, etc - Occasionally I have projects, centers, or packets that I need to assemble. It's a huge help if you're willing to take some of this home to complete for me. Just let me know and I'll add you to a list of those I can reach out to if I have something coming up.
Sharpen Pencils - it's one of those necessary evils that I always seem to run out of time for. Feel free to stop by anytime just to sharpen all my pencils. I'd LOVE that!
Running Errands - I don't need this often, but if you're willing to run a quick errand for me, such as pick up pictures from Walgreens for a special project, grab cotton balls for art, etc, let me know!
Garden Docent - Do you have a green thumb? Great, because I don't! Let me know if you'd like to help upkeep our class garden. This involves also coming in on days we want to plant and assisting students in planting and picking crops from the garden.
PTC Volunteers - PTC offers a few ways you can help out, by volunteering as the Room Parent, Art Docent, Dad's Club etc. Please visit their website for more information.
