Good morning! I will be out at a conference Monday and Tuesday this week.  Mrs. Barnett will be here in my place.  I'll see everyone on Wednesday.

Read Across America Month

March is Read Across America month!  We will be celebrating school wide with special dress days, each week.  

Friday, March 27th - Reading Takes You Places - wear collegiate or destination gear

We also have our Kindergarten color day this Wednesday, the 25th.  It's pink and brown!  Students are encouraged to wear pink and/or brown on Wednesday.

iReady Scores

We know that i-Ready scores were shared with families this week.  iReady scores correlate well in the higher grades with the state assessments, but  iReady is completely digital and for many Kinders, it's their first experience with such a platform.  Therefore, it doesn't always accurately depict what they know and do not know at this young of a grade.  Instead, it serves as good practice for the years to come.  In addition, our Kindergarten team had technological issues with the second implementation of the diagnostic test, due to an Apple update, which skewed results and led to inaccuracies in our data. We place a heavy emphasis on our in-class one-on-one assessments along with our weekly formative assessments to directly inform our instruction.  Please refer to the report card and progress reports sent home recently, and let me know if you have any questions.
