Eureka Union School District completely supports any new teacher needing induction. EUSD partners with SCOE to support new teachers as they clear their preliminary credentials. Mentors are assigned to inductees/new teachers based on grade/subject taught and site immediacy (same site is a priority). No other job is more rewarding that being able to mentor or coach a brand new teacher! We know that the the first two years of teaching can be challenging! Help support our teacher candidates by becoming a brand new mentor!
An application process is required. Complete the FORM here.
Your tasks include, but is not limited, to the following:
1. Attending all required mentor trainings by SCOE.
2. Fulfilling required conversation hours with your mentee.
3. Allowing your mentee to observe your classroom, and/or
4. Observing another teacher with your mentee and discussing insights.
5. Coaching your mentee through teaching concerns and challenges.
