GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR SUCCESSFUL REMOTE TEACHING AND LEARNING:
Every week, your classroom teacher will have multiple, structured opportunities for students to engage with with the teacher and with each other, as well as dive into learning.
For academic year 2020-21, distance learning will be more comprehensive, robust and rigorous, addressing all core content areas, plus some electives. Please ensure that you and your student are in consistent communication with his/her teacher.
Distance Learning will consists of daily synchronous ("live" teaching) and asynchronous (learner-directed) learning opportunities.
Most of the time, asynchonous learning times can be accomplished at times convenient for families.
During work time, it’s important to help create a learning space for students where they can be successful. While every house has a unique set-up, it’s important to try and remove as many distractions as possible. For younger learners this may mean moving some toys into the closet or into a different room. For older learners it may mean putting their cell phones away or keeping the television off.
Use the resources below to find out more about some frequently used digital resources. In addition, view some frequently asked Distance Learning questions below.
As additional questions come up about Distance Learning, email your teacher. Our team is committed to responding to your questions and getting the support you need!
