String Orchestra

ORCHESTRA:

UC/CSU A-G area: F-Visual/Performing Art

Orchestra is a string ensemble designed to prepare students for a lifelong appreciation of orchestral literature and to develop technical proficiency on their instrument.  Emphasis will be placed on technical proficiency, performance of string orchestra literature as well as music theory and history.  A wide variety of styles of music will be presented to deepen the students' understanding of music as well as for pure enjoyment.  In addition to class participation, students will be expected to follow a regular practice routine at home and attend all concerts, festivals, and all other community/school events hosted by the orchestra.
