My Chromebook won't turn on...

If your Chromebook is charged, but it won't turn on, please try a "hard reset" using the power button and the refresh button. Push the two buttons at the same time (see photo), release, and the Chromebook should reboot.

My Chromebook is slow or glitchy...

If your Chromebook is acting up or acting weird, it's probably time for an update

To run an update follow these steps:

If an update doesn't fix the issue, please bring your Chromebook to the library for assistance.

My Chromebook isn't charging...

When you plug in your Chromebook, check that the charging light comes on. If the light does not turn on, you may have a bad charger or a bad connection. Check that all parts of your charger are connected, and that the charger is fully plugged into the wall. If you check all connection points and it still does not work, please bring your charger to the library to exchange for a new one.

How much is a Chromebook fee?

If your Chromebook is lost or damaged, a fee of $300 will be applied to your account on Destiny. You will need to clear this fee to participate in extracurriculars and graduate. You can set up a payment plan in the finance office, as needed.

If you purchased insurance, the Chromebook fee is waived.

How much is a charger fee?

If your charger is lost or damaged, a fee of $55 will be applied to your account on Destiny. You will need to clear this fee to participate in extracurriculars and graduate. You can set up a payment plan in the finance office, as needed.

If you purchased insurance, the charger fee is waived.

Can I purchase insurance?

At the start of each year, students and their families must sign an acceptable use policy (AUP) form, which outlines the device expectations and the option to purchase insurance. Insurance costs $30 to cover the student's device for the school year (Chromebook and charger). Insurance covers loss, damage, and/or theft. The student is insured once the payment is made to the Finance Office. If a student or guardian chose "YES" on the AUP form, but did not make payment, the device is not insured.

If a student or guardian wishes to insure their Chromebook later in the year, the librarian(s) must inspect the device to make sure it is in good working order prior to making payment.
