Hi! My name is Mia Mueck and I am this year's Editor in Chief. My job is to oversee the newspaper and edit its various sections. I have been in Journalism for the past three years and I am now continuing onto my fourth, as a senior. For a little about me I am a big animal lover and an Equestrian. I love to play tennis, go to the beach, and bake family recipes. The Journalism class has been a fantastic experience and I’m excited to see what this year brings as we transition online.

Hello! My name is Sam Murakami, I am a junior and the opinion editor. This is my third year with the Sword and Shield, and my experiences with this class have been so meaningful. I love animals and being outdoors, and some of my hobbies include horse riding, knitting, hiking, and baking. I’m looking forward to how our class will change and grow this year.

 Hi! My name is Ava Norris, and I am the student life editor. I'm going into my third year with the Sword and Shield, and so far I’ve loved both my experiences as a writer and editor. Some things I love doing are performing on drill team, hanging out with friends, spending time with my family and pets, and baking. I'm really looking forward to experiencing what it's like as we move online with journalism! 

Hi, my name is Noemi Karoum, and I am this year’s Entertainment Editor for the Sword and Shield. This is my third year in Journalism on the editing staff, I was also last year's opinion editor. My job is to edit the writing and layout of all articles for the Entertainment section. In my free time I love playing waterpolo, hanging out with friends, going to the beach, and reading. I am so excited for my senior year on the staff of the Sword and Shield, and I can’t wait to see how our class will evolve in the future.

 Heyy! My name is Anna Simkin and I am this year’s sports editor. This is my second year in Journalism and I absolutely adore it! The environment this class provides is so welcoming and I have felt the support, even before becoming an editor during my freshman year. I live a very busy life, involving myself in volleyball amongst other little hobbies such as baking, babysitting, and spending time with my beloved friends and family. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Journalism and I am looking forward to experiencing this journey with the class!

Hi, my name is Rayne Coffee, I’m in my second year of Journalism and I’m also a staff writer for the Sword and Shield. Journalism has always been my favorite class and it’s been a lot of fun. I love hanging out with my friends, reading, and playing tennis. I’m excited to see what this year brings! 

Hi! My name is Hayley Fraga and I am a staff writer for the Sword and Shield. This is my second year in Journalism and also my second year as a staff writer. I'm very excited for what's to come for the Sword and Shield this school year! I enjoy hanging out with friends and being a part of South’s cheer team. 

 Hi! My name is Leah Gay, I’m a staff writer and this is my second year of Journalism. Journalism has been one of my favorite classes and helped me build confidence and strong connections. I’m a swimmer and I swam on South's swim team last season. My hobby is creating art, I’ve been passionate about drawing ever since I was little and hope to continue on that path. Can’t wait to share everything we create in journalism this year!

Hi, my name is Ashton Schneider and I am a staff writer for the Sword and Shield. I am currently in my 2nd year of Journalism and so far it's been great. I'm excited to see what happens in this new year of Journalism. Some of my hobbies are hanging out with friends, cooking, and line dancing. I'm ready for what this year has to offer and excited to see what comes!
