1976 - Oscar Medick
Oscar Medick was born in Wheeling, West Virginia and moved to Pinellas County in 1954 after graduating from West Virginia Tech with a degree in Guidance. He earned his Masters's Degree at the University of South Florida.
Oscar headed the Guidance Department at Seminole High School for many years and demonstrated exceptional concern for the future of the students. Oscar was liked by all as a “father” figure. He was named Educator of the Year in Pinellas County in 1974.
Oscar was a member of the Rotary Club of Seminole for many years and was a Paul Harris Fellow. Oscar enjoyed playing golf and immortalized the “Texas wedge” that has been utilized by many of his former golfing partners. He would use the putter from anywhere near the green.
