Gerry moved from New York to Pinellas County in 1969 with his parents and three brothers. He attended Bishop Barry High School, St. Petersburg Junior College, and the University Of Florida. Armed with a degree in Advertising/Marketing he moved to Seminole in 1977 and was hired as Promotions Director of Seminole Mall, where he spent a total of 12 years, 3 different times working at the mall.
Gerry Cachia has participated in a myriad of Seminole community events throughout the years including Member of Seminole Lions, Pow Wow, Music In The Park, Seminole Sings Competition, Stampede, Golf Tournament, Seminole’s Largest Holiday Mixers, Teachers Appreciation Day, Miss Seminole Pageant, Education Foundation Events, Hospice, etc.
Gerry created and developed ShowOffs Theater in Seminole Mall in 1996 which was the first live entertainment venue serving the Seminole community. Gerry served on the Seminole Chamber Board of Directors for 4 years and was awarded Chamber Champion in 2004, Merit Award 2005, and business of the year in 2015. He was Instrumental in starting Seminole’s Holiday Night Parade.
Gerry is a proud member of the Rotary Club Of Seminole Lake, serves on the club’s BOD and was named Rotarian of the year in 2018. Gerry created the Red Sled initiative to benefit Foster Kids Of Pinellas County raising over $150,000 plus in toys, gifts, and cash since its inception in 2015.
Gerry has been married to Rene’ Cachia, a Seminole High graduate, for the past 40 years and was named Mr. Seminole 2018.
