2013 - Gene G. Stern
Gene Stern moved to Seminole 1977. He was born in Germany of Ukranian parents who were Nazi POWs. Gene’s family moved to Cincinnati Ohio and graduated from University of Cincinnati in 1968 then joined USAF where he rose to the rank of Captain before he was discharged in 1973.
Gene joined Seminole Chamber and was immediately elected to the Board of Directors. Gene was the first male recipient of Chamber’s Merit Award. Gene brought in over 50 new members to the Seminole Chamber in the first 5 years.
Gene also helped organize Seminole Day at the Bucs in 1980 where over 800 residents attended s Bucs game and raised over $2000 to the benefit Seminole High Boosters.
Gene Stern became a Charter Member of the Rotary Club of Seminole Lake (RCSL) in 1980 and assisted in creating Kid's Appreciation Day with Jimmy Johnson. He also worked on the area’s Teacher Appreciation Breakfast.
RCSL has been very active in creating beneficial programs for the community and Gene Stern has been active in many of these events such as the Opening of the Park Blvd Bridge in 1982 and partnering with Osceola Fundamental High School as a community sponsor.
