~ 7 credits of physical education ~ 1 credit of Wellness Education ~
One physical education course is required per semester. During the sophomore year, students take one semester of Wellness Education and one semester of Physical Education.
Aquatics Education
A vital goal of the PE/Wellness Department is to ensure that all students are water safe before they graduate from Evanston Township High School. As the swim unit is an integral part of our physical education curricula, all students are expected to complete the swimming portion of their classes.

Freshman students may take Girls, Boys, or All Gender Freshman PE.
Sophomores take one semester of Sophomore PE and one semester of Wellness.
Juniors & Seniors have a variety of different classes to chose from to fulfill their requirements.

During Sophomore year, students will take one semester of Wellness Education opposite their Physical Education class.
This course studies optimum wellness, nutrition essentials, mental health, stress management, drug and alcohol education, communicable and chronic diseases, sex education, human sexuality, consent, safety, and social media. Students will receive an American Heart Association Handbook and Friends & Family certificate of completion.
