FERPA, COPPA, CIPA, and...sexting? Yeah, you read that right! This presentation will cover a variety of issues related to student and staff use of technology important for all ESU members. We'll quickly cover the basics of key issues for staff relating to technology and app usage, discuss essential compliance requirements, and then turn our attention to hot topic issues related to student technology use. Bring your questions and sense of humor!

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM Going to School with NebraskAccess (NE Library Commission)
The NebraskAccess statewide database program is intended to meet the needs of a diverse population of Nebraska residents, but which databases will work best in your K-12 classroom? Presenters Allana Novotny and Susan Knisely, from the Nebraska Library Commission, will provide an overview and demonstration of the databases that are most appropriate for students.

Presenter Megan Simmons, from ISKME/OER Commons, will celebrate the great work happening in the Nebraska Hub, showcase news tools and features and explore content area needs assessment. She will also share inspiration from other states implementing OER and discuss Outreach & Advocacy Planning. Following the webinar, affiliate members will continue the discussion on advocacy and plan next steps to keep moving forward with OER.
