The purpose of the ESU 5 School Climate Transformation Grant Project (ESU 5 SCTG Project) is to increase teacher proficiency with behavior and social/emotional learning while reducing student internalizing and externalizing behaviors, depression, and suicide risk through the use of a Multi-Tiered System of Support and layered interventions. The ESU 5 SCTG Project will directly address student needs in the following three ways.
First, the project proposes to introduce low-cost interventions into the PBIS framework (e.g., Good Behavior Game and Second Step).
Second, the project will provide coaching and support for teachers through national and local providers.
Third, the project will provide resources for teachers, schools, and ESU 5 to collect and track data on students to identify students who need additional support and identify appropriate interventions.
