EL Learning Plans

An individual learning plan is NOT currently required in Nebraska for ELs; however, this tool can be useful for planning and communication.

In the Research: Thompson & Rodriquez-Molica (2023)  found that individualizing plans for English Learners can shift educators' mindsets and improve student outcomes, especially for long-term English learners.  Keys for success are focusing on students' assets, enhancing opportunities for parents and students to have a voice in the learning plan meetings, and fostering collaboration among those who work with ELs.
