Survive or Thrive? Taking care of ourselves will allow us to better serve our colleagues and students; this session will focus on how we might thrive while meeting the day-to-day demands of school. Schools are increasingly aware of the importance of social-emotional health and the impact on learning. Districts that support the well-being of staff are likely to see lower levels of stress, improved attendance, and an increased ability to model positive emotions for students. Self-care for educators also leads to reduced rates of teacher turnover related to burnout; supporting the social and emotional well-being of staff is critical for creating a positive school climate. Building a culture of health and well-being can benefit EVERYONE in the school community.
