Created in 2005 through a partnership between ESSEC and Société Générale, joined in the first year by Orange and between 2012-2024 by TF1, the Media & Digital Chair is primarily a teaching chair. It brings together a group of ESSEC professors and industry professionals, who combine their skills to create a genuine bridge between high-level strategic thinking and the ever-changing world of the content industries.
The Chair is built around a program of teaching, exchanges and real-life situations with professionals and companies in the sector, as well as applied research on the current issues of its partners. With an international outlook, its objectives are as follows:
develop a keen sense of analysis and understanding of the sector's issues through monitoring and observation;
develop operational research to analyze the fundamentals of the sector, reflect on its issues and anticipate its trends;
contribute to the development of an ecosystem of high-caliber professionals with shared managerial and societal values, and strategic and operational skills.
The Media & Digital Chair is aimed at ESSEC students wishing to pursue a career in the media and cultural industries, and more broadly in digital companies that have made content an integral part of their business model.
It intends to maintain a dynamic of sharing visions, knowledge and experience, and to act as a think tank, adopting a free and forward-looking approach to the challenges of a sector at the confluence of the cultural, economic and political worlds.
