The Buddy Programme is about connecting Polish student-volunteers with incoming international students to provide you, the international students, with a helping hand at the start of your stay. It’s also an opportunity for Polish students to practice a foreign language and meet students from around the world.

How can a Buddy help me?

Your buddy will be there to support you and answer any questions you may have about your studies or your stay in Poznań. They can pick you up from the airport or train station, or at least explain how the public transportation system works.

Your buddy can also give you tips on where to go and what to see during your first days in the city. From there, it’s all up to you—but the Buddy Programme is known for sparking great friendships!

A new semester is about to start, this means that we are going to start registration for the Buddy Programme. 📣

✔ Are you an arriving student?

✔ Do you want to develop your language skills?

✔ Do you want to have a Buddy?

✔ Are You in need of a friend?

If your answer to even one question is YES, don't delay, register to the Buddy Programme! To join the incoming mentoring program, please sign up for a Papaya account. 

🍐 To make the process of creating an account and pairing people who are Buddy with newcomers easier, please read the steps for creating an account, they will make it not difficult and should take you no more than 5 minutes.

→ Those without completed contact information (email and phone number) will be automatically removed from the program database.

STEP 1

Register with the Papaya program: https://papaya.iter-idea.com/

STEP 2

Select your country of origin and choose our ESN UAM Poznan section! 

✅ IMPORTANT: If you register using “Use email and password” then you will be informed that a password is required from the data administrator. You will receive it in an email after they accept your request. This can take about one day. 

If you register with a Google/Facebook/Apple account then you will go straight to step 3. 

Fill in the basic information about yourself.

✅ IMPORTANT: Please add contact information for yourself especially phone number and email address! This will help Your Buddy to get in touch with You. Phone numer will be used to add You to the WhatsApp group for incoming students.

STEP 3

After completing your profile you will be shown ESN UAM POZNAŃ BUDDY PROGRAM and the message “You aren't subscribed!” to add yourself to our project just click on the project logo and then I WANT TO HAVE A BUDDY. 

STEP 4

After clicking I WANT TO HAVE A BUDDY, a list of several questions will unfold that are required to join the project. Please complete them and click SAVE MY SUBSCRIPTION. 

✅There is also a question “It is all about You!” it is not required, but you are warmly invited to complete it, it will help the coordinator in the pairing as you can write there what you expect from the project and what kind of help you want to get from Your Buddy.

Congratulations you are in our system!🍐Now all that's left is to wait for the pairing. 👥
