Modern majorettes break drastically from their Western European carnival origins and have come to twirl batons, fire batons, knives, and alike props. This is accompanied with dance, movement, gymnastics, and rhythmic gymnastics.
The W. S. Neal High School majorettes have a long and extended history of excellence and showmanship. The majorettes perform with the high school marching band at halftime shows, parades, pep rallies, community performances, and competitions. These performers receive training at local studios where they also perform at dance competitions on the local and national level. The W.S. Neal Majorettes typically land in the top spots of every competition they attend with the high school marching band, making them one of the most decorated groups at W.S. Neal High School. This group strives to achieve these high levels of success through their hard work and dedication to the activity.
