SCHOOL MOBILITY WITH STUDENTS CHIETI, ITALY

School Mobility in Chieti (Italy): a learning and cultural exchange experience.

Last week, three teachers from Escola Lavinia and eleven 6th grade students had the opportunity to take part in a School Mobility with Students in the city of Chieti, Italy, together with the Instituto Comprensivo “2 Chieti”. This experience was a unique opportunity to share learning, culture and experiences with students and teachers from another European country.

From Monday to Thursday, every morning we attended the Italian school, where our students joined different classes and participated in a variety of educational activities. During these days they took part in lessons such as science, mathematics, English, Latin, physical education and music, working together with the Italian students. This immersion in the daily life of the school allowed us to learn first-hand about their educational practices and methodologies.

The interaction in the classroom was very enriching: students had the opportunity to connect, collaborate and learn together, naturally overcoming language barriers with curiosity and enthusiasm. This direct contact encouraged the practice of languages and helped the children broaden their perspective, understanding that they are part of a diverse and multicultural European community.

We hope that this meeting will help strengthen the bonds between our schools, promote cultural exchange and create an enriching space for dialogue for both teachers and students. We also hope to learn new teaching strategies that we can incorporate into our educational project and that this mobility will inspire us to continue working in collaboration with other European schools.

In addition to the school activities, the afternoons were full of cultural experiences and shared moments. We visited the coastal city of Pescara, where we enjoyed some time at thebeach; we took part in a pizza-making workshop in Chieti, discovering some of the secrets of Italian cuisine; we visited a museum, and we also had time to walk around the city, explore its atmosphere and learn more about its culture.

Overall, this mobility has been a very enriching experience, both academically and personally. Our students return home with new knowledge, new friendships and memories that will surely stay with them for a long time.

Mobilitat escolar a Chieti (Itàlia): una experiència d’aprenentatge i convivència europea.

La primera setmana de març onze alumnes de 6è i tres mestres de l’escola vam tenir l’oportunitat

de participar en una “School Mobility with Students” a la ciutat de Chieti, a Itàlia, juntament

amb l’Instituto Comprensivo “2 Chieti”. Aquesta experiència ha estat una oportunitat única per compartir aprenentatges, cultures i vivències amb alumnat i docents d’un altre país europeu.

De dilluns a dijous, cada matí vam assistir a l’escola italiana, on els nostres alumnes es van integrar a les classes i van participar en diferents activitats educatives. Durant aquests dies van poder assistir a sessions de medi, matemàtiques, anglès, llatí, educació física i música, treballant conjuntament amb els estudiants italians. Aquesta immersió en el dia a dia del centre ens ha permès conèixer de primera mà el seu funcionament i les seves metodologies educatives.

La convivència a l’aula ha estat molt enriquidora: els alumnes han tingut l’oportunitat de relacionar-se, col·laborar i aprendre junts, superant les barreres lingüístiques amb naturalitat i curiositat. Aquest contacte directe ha afavorit la pràctica de llengües i ha ajudat els infants a obrir la mirada al món, prenent consciència que formen part d’una comunitat europea diversa i plural.

Confiem que aquesta trobada ens permeti enfortir els vincles entre les nostres escoles, fomentar l’intercanvi cultural i crear un espai de diàleg enriquidor tant per al professorat com per a l’alumnat. També esperem que aquesta experiència ens ajudi a aprendre noves estratègies pedagògiques que puguem incorporar al nostre projecte educatiu i que ens inspiri a continuar treballant en xarxa amb altres centres europeus.

A més de les activitats escolars, les tardes van estar plenes d’experiències culturals i de convivència. Vam visitar la ciutat costanera de Pescara, on vam gaudir d’una estona a la platja; vam participar en un taller de pizza a Chieti, descobrint alguns secrets de la gastronomia italiana; vam visitar un museu i també vam tenir temps per passejar per la ciutat i conèixer millor el seu ambient i la seva cultura.

En definitiva, aquesta mobilitat ha estat una experiència molt enriquidora, tant a nivell acadèmic com personal. Els nostres alumnes tornen amb nous aprenentatges, noves amistats i records que segur que els acompanyaran durant molt de temps.
