ESC Resident Educator Program
The Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio (ESCNEO) provides a Resident Educator Program as a service to surrounding districts and charter/community schools and the beginning teachers employed through these organizations. Regular program meetings and formal mentor support provide beginning teachers with the framework to enhance teaching and learning within their classrooms supporting student achievement and the teacher’s professional growth.

Melissa is a Program Specialist for the Department of Teaching and Learning at the Educational Service Center (ESC) of Northeast Ohio, bringing 22 years of experience in the field of education. Melissa’s work at the ESC supports the Resident Educator Program through educator mentoring and program facilitation. Melissa also serves on the ESC’s Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC) as co-chair and supports grant work between the ESC and partner districts.
In her previous work, Melissa supported a team of Early Childhood Education professionals while running a program focused on serving children birth-preschool. Melissa is passionate about the field of education and will bring her unique experience and expertise while partnering with educators and institutions to assist in educator development for the benefit of the students served.

M.A. in Education Leadership from Bowling Green State University
Kory serves as a Consultant for the Department of Teaching and Learning at the Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio providing support and assistance with the implementation of legislative state initiatives to educators and districts. Kory is a credentialed state trainer for Ohio Teacher Evaluation Systems (OTES), Ohio Principal Evaluation Systems (OPES) and Resident Educator Mentor Trainer. He is the co-chair of the ESC Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC). Kory is also the Program Coordinator for the Resident Educator Program.
Prior to the ESC, Kory taught high school social studies as well as Special Education at North Ridgeville High School. Kory served as the social studies department head for 7 years, overseeing creation of new courses and adoption of new curriculum and technology. Before teaching at North Ridgeville, Kory taught 9th grade Special Education at Elyria High School.
