Descriptor: Most sessions are five nights long, with campers checking into camp on Sunday evening ready to make new friends and many great memories! Camp sessions are co-ed but cabins are grouped by gender and age for sleeping purposes and at other times when appropriate. During the camp session, campers participate in all of the fun activities available at Camp Cheerful: swimming, visiting the horse barn, hiking, fishing, craft-making, sports and games in the field, adapted basketball, and more. In the evening, overnight campers have camp all to themselves! This is when they enjoy talent shows, dances, and campfires. Camp Cheerful accepts IO, Level 1, and SELF Waiver. Descriptor: Rotary Camp for Children with Special Needs offers summer overnight camps in Summit County for children and adults with mental health disorders, and physical and developmental disabilities. Rotary Camp offers an ESY program called Day Camp+ at our Summit County location. Campers do not need to reside in any specific county to participate. Descriptor: Is your camper ready for a summer of fun, friends, and success? Camp Kodiak is an integrated, non-competitive, overnight camp for children and teens with and without LD, ADHD, and high-functioning ASD. Our program features over 50 sports & activities, a social skills program, and an academic program. Camp Kodiak is staffed with teachers, social workers, child & youth workers, recreation specialists, and university & college students. Our camper-to-staff ratio is 2:1 and our cabin groups are small. We build confidence and self-esteem by structuring all activities - athletic, artistic, and social - to ensure success. Our comfortable log cabins have electricity and a full bathroom, including a shower. We are situated on a 425-acre site with 2 miles of waterfront.

Descriptor: Camp Nuhop is a week-long residential summer camp and respite program for children diagnosed with (but not limited to) ASD, ADHD, learning disabilities, mood disorders, and other neurodiversities. Camp Nuhop provides a structured environment where all campers have the opportunity to make friends and feel good about themselves. Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and dynamic learning environment where children are empowered to succeed. Campers are placed with an understanding staff who incorporate self-awareness and social skills in a safe, fun environment, all while participating in traditional summer camp activities such as hiking, swimming, and camping out! Our 3-8 staff-to-camper ratio allows small groups to get to know one another and focus on each camper's individual needs.

Descriptor: Club Kodiak is a summer program for young adults 19+ with ADHD, LD, and high-functioning ASD. We offer a unique vacation resort experience that includes sports, cultural activities, a social skills program, and an in-depth life skills program. There are over 30 activities. On hot, sunny days, we cool off in the lake, and on other days, we are in the heated swimming pool. The entire group attends weekly out-of-camp excursions where the destination changes each week. We are staffed with teachers, social workers, child & youth workers, and recreation specialists. We provide a 3:1 Guest-to-Staff ratio with 24-hour subtle supervision. Our facilities include comfortable, lakeside cottages that contain full bathroom facilities and a kitchen. Breakfast and lunch are prepared in the cottages and dinner is a large community event. Club Kodiak could be the next step for your young adult.

Descriptor: Camp Echoing Hills is a Christian Special Needs camp that serves Individuals with Special Needs starting at ages 7 through those in their 80s. We celebrated our 56th summer in 2023 and a nearly 95% return rate of campers each summer. Descriptor: Recreation Unlimited’s Summer Residential Camps provide a full schedule of activities, lodging, meals and snacks, counselors, program leaders, on-site nursing, and a great environment for fun! Examples of program activities during the summer are swimming, fishing, canoeing, climbing, sports, archery, creekin', nature exploration, arts and crafts, cooking, theater, campfire, dancing, and more!
A fully-equipped Health Services Center and Nurses' Quarters with a team of nurses that administer all camper medications and medical treatments are provided. All meals and snacks are provided with healthy choices available. Special diets can be accommodated. Items such as Recreation Unlimited sweatshirts and t-shirts are available at the camp store for purchase which enables the campers to go home with a souvenir from camp.
