ATTENDANCE
Head Start Program Performance Standard 1302.16 (a) (1)
(a) Promoting regular attendance. A program must track attendance for each child.
(1) A program must implement a process to ensure children are safe when they do not arrive at school. If a child is unexpectedly absent and a parent has not contacted the program within one hour of program start time, the program must attempt to contact the parent to ensure the child’s well-being.
Head Start Teachers will follow district policy and procedures reporting daily attendance. The Family Service Worker will follow Region 7 Head Start's procedures for reporting daily attendance:
Communicating with the Teacher and Teaching Assistant concerning absent students
Contacting parents/guardians of absent students
Documenting notes concerning absent students in ChildPlus
Should the Family Service Worker be absent, the Head Start Teacher is responsible for reporting Head Start attendance by 9 am. on the Teacher/Teaching Assistant Resource page:
