Non-Google Resources

In light of extraordinary circumstances around the world, technology companies are stepping up to offer free access to their products. Teachers are also gathering in virtual spaces (Facebook group called: Educator Temporary School Closure for Online Learning) to share resources and best practices in designing online lessons. Consider creating a community for your teachers to interact within and support each other during this time.

TexQuest

The state-supported TexQuest program provides access to a wealth of digital academic resources. Access authoritative resources for multiple grade levels and content areas. The majority of ESC-20 districts and charter schools already participate in the TexQuest program.

The ESC-20 Digital Resources team offers training for teachers that introduces the TexQuest resources and take a deep dive into the content available allowing teachers to discover ways to integrate these resources into curriculum planning and instruction. Specifically, training on how to integrate TexQuest resources into an online learning environment such as Google Classroom is included. Features in many of the TexQuest resources include text-to-speech and translations tools as well as the ability to modify reading level. TexQuest resources are available to your entire school community - all teachers, all students, all administrators, and all students’ immediate families.

Seesaw Update - Student Privacy and Home Learning Codes

This update makes it easier for students to sign in from home using a Home Learning sign-in code when emergencies prevent them from coming to school.

Here’s what you need to know to get started.

  • From a computer, go to https://app.seesaw.me/home-learning and sign in to your Seesaw account.

  • Print or download the individual codes for each of your students.

  • Give codes to students, ONE per student.

  • From home, students sign in to the CLASS app with this code.

If you are having students login with email addresses, then you do not need to use the Home Learning Codes. Instead, go to your settings wrench and turn OFF the ability for students to see each other's work.
