Google Classroom Workflow
Sample Google Classroom Workflow
Teacher Creates Assignment
Assignments can be sent to one or multiple classes, or to individual students for differentiation purposes.
Topics on the Classwork page allow teachers to organize work.
Due dates will generate calendar appointments for students and automatically capture when work is submitted, graded, and returned to students.
Assignments can include a template which will allow teacher access and ability to provide student feedback from the beginning of an assignment.
Assignments should include robust directions in case student is absent at time of assignment
Rubrics can be embedded within an assignment.
Student Assignment Views
Student assignment view allows students to review directions, access template, send a private comment to the teacher and add additional documents or supporting materials to an assignment.
If the teacher creates the assignment with a template and 'make a copy for each student', Google automatically names the assignment and creates a copy with each student's name in the document title.
Students can send private comments to their teacher.
Students can view all assigned and missing work from their Assignments page.

Guardian Summaries
Find the sample email for a Guardian Summary listed to the left by clicking the following link or the image: https://support.google.com/edu/classroom/answer/6386354?hl=en&authuser=0.
Teachers invite Guardians via email to receive updates according to their preference (daily or weekly). They can unsubscribe at anytime.
Guardians will receive automatic updates for each of their students and their classes (for teachers using Google Classroom).
The summaries include: Missing Work, Upcoming Work and Class Activity.
By subscribing to Guardian Summaries, guardians are NOT joining the Classroom. They just receive updates via email of events mentioned above.
