Usando el cancionero para desarrollar la lectoescritura en una aula Dual (PreK -2 / SPANISH)
This session will present how to use a Cancionero to teach and develop early biliteracy skills through authentic methods that are culturally responsive and use songs as meaningful texts. The strategies presented are adaptable to grades Pre-K-2 and focus on integrating explicit instruction in early literacy skills and concepts of print within an engaging context. The session will include modeling of the strategies, analyzing for teaching points, and using interactive structures to increase student engagement. Students will learn and enjoy creating their Cancionero with their favorite songs!
