Maintaining coastal balances
To prove that Posidonia oceanica allows sedimentation, we conducted an experiment that you can find by clicking here.
Posidonia oceanica favours the settling and sedimentation of particles in suspension, thus improving the clarity of the water.
Posidonia oceanica reduces coastal erosion :
1. Firstly, thanks to its numerous leaves and the thickness of its matte which reduce hydrodynamics (by 30 to 40%).
2. And secondly, thanks to the banks formed by its dead leaves, on the shore, which reduce the force of the swell and waves.
To prove that Posidonia oceanica preserves the coast, we conducted an experiment that you can find by clicking here.
