The Writing Center is located in Room A104 and is open from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily.
The Writing Center staff coordinates the across-discipline writing program, offering students individual and small group help with writing and supporting teachers in the teaching of writing. Equipped with computers and printers, the Writing Center is a place where students are able to complete work for a wide range of courses.
Our mission is to maximize the writing potential of every member of the Joel Barlow community, giving them the skills to become stronger, more independent thinkers and writers. We support writing and the teaching of writing in all subject areas; and we strive to serve all students, teachers, and staff by providing guidance, resources, and a dedicated space to write.
The JBHS Writing Center is a proud member of the Secondary School Writing Centers Association (SSWCA)
and the International Writing Centers Association (IWCA).
