This year @StLukesHigh we will celebrate a virtual journey through Advent toward Christmas. We will post daily (Monday to Friday) reflections from the pupils and staff together with our chaplain, Fr.@JCWhitworth. Perhaps this could be a daily moment of peace for you as we end 2020. #Advent #Advent2020
On Day two of our Journey from Advent to Christmas we continue to reflect on hope. Hope @StLukesHigh in our communities, our families and our lives. #Advent #Advent2020
Day 3 of our Journey from Advent to Christmas, our virtual #Advent @StLukesHigh. Some of our s6 reflect on what hope means to them. Continue to follow as we enjoy #Advent2020 #JesusIsLord #hope
On the fourth evening of our Advent Reflections @StLukesHigh we hear from some of our S3 about their hopes and expectations. They reflect on the Root of Jesse (Isaiah 11) and the Jesse Tree, a generous tradition of giving that we have in our school and local parishes, @StJohnsBarrhead & St. Thomas', Neilston. #Advent2020 #Advent
Day 5. In our final post of the week, s5 reflect on Hope as an anchor in challenging times and we look at how the prayer of Pope Francis during this pandemic (Urbi et Orbi) was a sign of hope and consolation in times of trouble. @StLukesHigh #Advent #Advent2020 #hope
@StLukesHigh we continue with day 6 of our virtual Journey from Advent toward Christmas. In week 2 we focus on the gift of Love. Enjoy our reflection from more of our s3 and our chaplain, #Advent2020 #Advent #Hope #Love
@StLukesHigh we continue on our Journey through Advent with our Day 7 Reflection. A few of our S6 girls reflect on some of their Caritas work this year. In week 2 of Advent we focus on Love. #hope #love #Advent
This evening's very special reflection considers the love & generosity of some of our students @StLukesHigh. The kind of Love we see in this season is generous, selfless and unconditional. God himself, poured out his love for us by being born as one of us in a humble and holy family. Perhaps the only way to respond to the Love that God has for us is by these generous gifts of ourselves and our time to help others. #love #hope #Advent #AdventCalendar
@StLukesHigh S6 enjoyed taking part in their charity Santa Stroll today. Much fun was had as well as time to reflect on the #love of the season of #Advent as we journey towards #Christmas.
Day 10 @StLukesHigh we remember the words of Pope Benedict to the youth of our country in 2010: “we were made for love.” These were the words that launched our Caritas Programme in Scotland for all those in S6 and led to our Pope Francis Faith award for those in P7. So we end week two of our journey from Advent to Christmas reflecting on #love. Thank you for journeying with us.
It's day 11 of our Advent Reflections on our virtual journey through #Advent and our #AdventCalendar. This week we focus on joy! Of course, we remember our joy as we celebrate together and try to spread joy to those around us.
We also think about Mary's joy at the birth of her son and the joy of family. We imagine the great joy of the Shepherds at the birth of Jesus as they realise what his birth means! This is Jesus who makes everything new, brings courage for those who are afraid and offers mercy and peace.
Day 12 of our virtual Advent Reflections @StLukesHigh. We continue to reflect on Joy. Today's reflection is a montage of the joy we have had as a school serving others. #Hope #Love #Joy #Advent
From Advent to Christmas! Joy goes far deeper than the material. @StLukesHigh it can be found in community & family and especially in communion with Jesus Christ, Immanuel: God with us. #hope #love #joy #Advent Thank you for journeying with us.
Day 16 of our journey through Advent reflections. This week we reflect on Peace. Something we often feel the lack of, yet that always awaits us in Christ Jesus the Prince of Peace. @StLukesHigh Take a moment today to pray for peace in our lives and in the lives of all around us.
@StLukesHigh Our Journey through #Advent comes to an end this evening. #Peace has been our theme this week. Today we pray, in the words of St. Paul, that the "peace of God, beyond our understanding, protects your hearts & minds in Christ Jesus!" (Phil 4;7)
On Christmas Morning our journey through Advent, & through life, finds new meaning. May this Christmas be a joyful, peaceful, hopeful time of love for all connected to @StLukesHigh Enjoy our final reflection on this extraordinary feast. #Christmas2020 #Immanuel God is with us!
