In St. John's Nursery Class our curriculum is designed to provide our children with a place where they can be supported, challenged and able to develop skills for life. Through carefully considered experiences combining real-ife, child-led and adult-led activities, our focus is on the holistic development of every child. Our practice and the ethos is based on a climate of mutual respect and our staff, parents and children work closely to create an environment that encourages curiosity, freedom and independence.
We work in close partnership with families and external agencies to ensure tha we create positive relationships, building strong and nurturing attachments for all our children and families. Our child's safety and happiness is at the heart of all we do. Our staff team of reflective practitoners are committed to continually improving their practice to ensure that they provide excellent learning experiences and outcomes for all children.

Our aim is to provide a setting that offers our children the oppertunity to explore, socialise, play and learn. Our playroom is designed to be free-flowing, allowing children to feel relaxed and uninhibited. We utilise our outdoor space and this is accessible throughout the day. Our children are at the centre of their learning. The experiences on offer reflect their interests, ensuring that they are motivated and engaged. Our children are encouraged to take an active role in the setting up of activities, the planning and the clearing up. This sense of ownership encourages them to feel part of their nursery community while instilling those values of working together in a caring and respectful way.
