School uniform/ dress codes is an important way of reinforcing this drive for excellence. At St John’s our school uniform plays a very important part in maintaining the high standards that we expect of our pupils in all aspects of school life.
School Uniform – Dressing for Excellence.
Please bear in mind when purchasing uniform the authority policy on uniform. As you know we are very fortunate in St. John’s to have a high levels of pupils wearing full school uniform. A few points to consider:
When purchasing new school shoes, please ensure that they are suitable black school shoes and not trainers.
Skirts should be of an acceptable modest length.
P1 to P7 should wear their shirt and tie on every day that they do not have PE.
The school PE kit can be worn to school on your child's two PE days.
Blazers are encouraged to be worn at all times. Any blazers which could be recycled can be handed into school.
At St. John's Primary we have a pre-loved uniform social enterprise. Please ask a member of staff to show you to our pre-loved uniform which is available for everyone to use. All items are free of charge.
The School Uniform consists of:
Grey trousers, skirt or pinafore
Blue shirt with our school tie or our yellow polo-shirt
Navy blue sweatshirt or grey knitwear
Black school shoes
Gym Kit:
School polo-shirt
Dark shorts, tracksuit trousers or leggings
Trainers or sandshoes
No jewellery – earrings should be removed on gym days
