P.E. Days

Our P.E. days this term are Mondays and Thursdays.

We have P.E. with Mr. Johnston on a Monday (indoors) and on a Thursday with myself and Mr. Milligan out in the MUGA.

PE kits are welcome to be left in the classroom. Please be sure to label all clothing if possible, as this really helps us while we get ready for P.E. and changed again at the end of the day.

As we move into the Autumn/Winter months, we do still aim to take PE outdoors every Thursday afternoon (unless the weather is particularly unkind). Please bring warm PE trousers/joggers and a waterproof jacket if at all possible. Mr. Milligan and I will be sure to have ours at the ready too!

Ready, set, go!

Library Days

We love a really good story in Primary 2A!

On Wednesday mornings we take a trip up to our school library to choose a book to share at home. Please pop your child's library book back in their school bag on a Wednesday morning so that we can exchange our books for something new.

Library books are self-selected by the children, with just a little hint of guidance from Mrs Allan about books that we might enjoy! We hope that these books can be enjoyed at home with family and encourage children to select books for the simple love of reading.

"You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax, all you need is a book!" ~ Dr. Seuss

Home Learning

All home learning is posted on our Google Classroom every Tuesday and due the following Monday. Each week we will carry out a literacy and numeracy home learning task, and sometimes some little projects which align with our wider learning topics. Home learning should be an enjoyable experience and compliment the work that we are carrying out in class. If you have any problems at all, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

rights respecting classroom

We are so excited to announce that our school has recently been awarded the accolade of a Silver Rights Respecting School Award! In class we often chat about our rights and work hard to make sure that all of our rights are respected. For example, the right to learn, the right to play, the right to food and shelter and the right to be safe and enjoy friendships. We recently appointed not one, but two rights respecting representatives in our class! We know they are going to do such a fabulous job! Well done Keir and Jia!

messy play

In our classroom we work hard and we play hard too! Sand and water play and art activities will quite often comprise a part of our continuous provision of learning throughout the course of the week. Please feel welcome to provide an old t-shirt for messy play which can be kept in the classroom, if you'd prefer.
