8th grade Chorus is an elective class meeting 2-3 times weekly.

Student continue to explore vocal music more rigorously, work to master their music skills, and perform in large and small groups. Material taught includes:

• advanced rhythm literacy

• music vocabulary

• intermediate music theory

• sight-singing multiple lines of music

• reading choral music in 3-part, SAB, and SATB voicing

• multicultural vocal literature, jazz, and a cappella

• solo and ensemble vocal technique

8th grade singers have the opportunity to perform in three concerts during the school year including a vertical concert with the EHS Choirs, have some small group opportunities, and they may audition for The Classics, our varsity show choir.
