6th grade Chorus is the largest vocal music ensemble at EMS, averaging between 115-150 students in four sections. The class meets 2-3 times weekly. 

Student have the opportunity to explore vocal music, develop their music skills, and perform in large and small groups. Material taught includes:

• rhythm literacy

• music vocabulary

• music theory

• sight-singing

• reading choral music in 1-3 equal ranged parts

• multicultural vocal literature

• solo and ensemble vocal technique

6th grade singers have the opportunity to perform in three concerts during the school year and they may audition for The Classics, our varsity show choir.
