Congratulations to all of the Townies who earned Student of the Month for the 2024-2025 school year. Your hard work, character, and dedication have not gone unnoticed.
A big thank you to Mr. Silva for keeping this important tradition alive and helping us recognize the outstanding efforts of our students.
East Providence High School Teacher of the Year
At East Providence High School, students know when a teacher truly sees them, when someone shows up, listens, pushes them to do their best, and never gives up on them. That’s the kind of teacher Mary Sorice is.
This year, over 300 students, staff, and families voted for the 2025 Teacher of the Year. Nominations came from every part of the school, and it was clear how many lives Mary has touched. Her classroom is a place where students feel safe, respected, and challenged. She makes learning feel meaningful, and she makes students feel like they matter.
Mary is also present far beyond her classroom. She cheers at games, shows up for concerts, mentors new teachers, leads professional development, and helps shape the future of EPHS through her work on school-wide initiatives. She recently completed her Master’s degree with a 4.0, all while continuing to give her best to her students every single day.
Mary Sorice represents the heart of EPHS, and the Townie community is proud to name her the 2025 Teacher of the Year.
Congratulations, Mary and thank you for everything you do!!
