How is student learning extended in Science for AEP?
In Science AEP there will be a greater focus on advanced scientific skills. From dissections to multidisciplinary projects you will have the opportunity to create, collaborate and communicate. You will delve deeper into topics and develop independence in your research, experimental and design skills. Teachers will be there to coach you through the process but you will be challenged!

Students are given opportunities to research in-depth topics of interest and create products to share with the school population

Students in the AEP program in English Language Arts will find themselves in a literature and a language rich environment, using the 21st Century Core Competencies to enhance the learning environment.
A focus on close reading and annotation skills facilitate student engagement and understanding while exploring diverse and challenging texts.
An environment of collaboration is evident throughout all three grades as students discuss and explore ideas in order to deepen their understanding of human nature and empathy.
Moving students toward an internalized understanding of theme is an ongoing pursuit and one that helps facilitate confidence and success in high school and beyond.
In their written work, with strategies and skills that are scaffolded through all three grades, students will develop more effective and independent revision and editing skills, and will also have to organize their arguments and analysis in a clear way for their reader.
“Intellectual risk taking” is also pursued in a variety of ways including: encouraging students to ardently read for personal enjoyment, challenging students to improve as readers and writers, and ensuring students develop a greater understanding of the world around them and their place in it.
