Can I enter the French Immersion Program in grade 10 with no experience in the French language?
Unfortunately no, you must be enrolled in either a French Immersion, Late Immersion or Francophone program before registering for French Immersion in Grade 10.
Can I take all my French Immersion courses through the International Baccalaureate program?
No, only specific courses are offered in French Immersion and IB, please refer to the courses offered tab for more information. Students can be full French Immersion and partial IB students but they cannot take full French Immersion and full IB at the same time.Â
Do I have to take Higher Level French Language Arts if I want to take French Immersion Math in IB?
Yes, the higher level French class must be taken if you want to take French Immersion IB Math.
Do I have to take Math in IB if I only want to take French Language Arts IB?
No, you can take French Language Arts IB without the Math IB but you do have to take at least one other IB class to go with the French Language Arts IB class. The other classes a student could take in IB to accompany their French Language Arts class is: English IB, German IB, Spanish IB or Japanese IB.
Can I still register for the French Immersion program if I do not get accepted into the first High School I applied for?
If you do not register before March 22, 2024 then you will not be accepted into the program. If you apply for another school and find out you are not accepted after March 22, you will not be allowed to apply for the French Immersion Program at Harry Ainaly. You MUST register for the French Immersion program before March 22, 2024.
If I meet all the requirements to register for the French Immersion program and I register before March 22, 2024 will I be put in the lottery?
