Eastglen is a busy place - there are constantly incredible performances, initiatives, and more going on! Check out some of our awesome activities from this year!
Check out our student work from Semester 1!
In partnership with the University of Alberta
The following is a link to a video produced by the University of Alberta. The video is about the experiences of 4 deaf students relating to their participation in a piece of theatre called Apple Time. The producers wanted to respect the ethnicity of the students and four of our students provided the voices for the deaf students. You might recognize one other voice as well.
Once again we are proud to be celebrating Black History Month at Eastglen! Last year we engaged our students in learning about Canada's past and explored the important contributions of Black people all across Canada.
This year we have organized our celebration around exploring Alberta's past, its present, and our hope for our future. As part of our celebration, each day we have been recognizing two people who impacted our past - one from Alberta specifically, and one from broader Canada.
Check out some of the posters to the left and below!
Eastglen students participated in Ellis Don's Shaping the Future program this year. Three teams entered and created presentations that explored a future without racism. Check out the trailer for all of the projects from across Canada above!
In anticipation of Black History Month, our Drawing 15 class worked on a portrait series that celebrates Black Canadians throughout history to now.
These are around the school painted on different windows with information cards below. Check out the pictures here!
Eastglen's Bike-A-Thon raised over $36,000 in the first three years! Students fundraise for World Bicycle Relief - a nonprofit that provides bicycles to communities in need of transportation.
Last year due to Covid-19, the Bike-A-Thon was cancelled, but Eastglen students still fundraised and donated to World Bicycle Relief!
Bike-A-Thon itself is a 24 hour non-stop activity extravaganza and very exciting to be a part of! Check out the videos from our first two years here as well as team posters below!
To bring some joy during a difficult year, the Eastglen administration team re-created the classic tale of Elf. Enjoy!
We can't wait to be able to host you in our building, but for now check out Scorch's school tour!
During the 2019 - 2020 school year, many of our student athletes had their seasons for their various sports cut short. For grade 12 students, this meant many of them were unable to complete their final year participating as student athletes.
To honor this loss, and our students, we created this video for the #BeALightAlberta. We are so proud of our student athletes and we can't wait to see them playing sports again one day!
To celebrate May 4th, Scorch got into an epic battle with the A&W Root Bear!
We are so incredibly proud of our graduates every year! For 2020, we came together as a staff to share our favorite graduation book: Oh The Places You'll Go!
Here is the FULL PRODUCTION of Scenes from a Quarantine.
This was completed during COVID-19, following AHS and EPS protocols and really showcases the adaptability and hard work of our students and staff!
This year, Eastglen Drama students moved their performances online!
