Why I'm Becoming The March Animal Madness' Hottest Trend!
I was hanging out with my cubs underneath a tree teaching them techniques on how to catch prey and how to hide from predators. When one of the kids requested food, I put all of my cubs in a secure location before leaving to go in search of prey. While aimlessly walking, I unintentionally came across an antelope grazing on grass, and I quickly scanned the area on each side to make sure there was no one present before carefully approaching the antelope. After making an accidental sound, I swiftly knelt down and used the spots on my fur to blend in so the antelope wouldn't see me. And then again started creeping towards the antelope…slowly getting nearer and nearer to my target.
I waited until I was close enough to the antelope and started my final run at a speed of 113 kilometers per hour to catch him. In just a few seconds, I caught the antelope. When sprinting for more than 30 seconds, I get really exhausted; one of my goals is to be able to run faster for longer distances.
Before the lion could come and steal my meat and chase me away, I immediately gave the antelope to my kids, and we all quickly devoured the antelope. After eating, I was exhausted from all the hard work I had done, so my cubs and I stayed there for a while and took a nap as well. Soon after, I spotted a lion…I panicked, and I and my cubs hastily stood up and ran to the nearby shrubs to hide.
We all moved to a different shaded location under the trees after the lion had left, so it would be difficult for any other predators to find us. Let's vote for the magnificent and smart SAHARAN CHEETAH, a member of my species.
Man, this is so boring! Waiting and waiting for some fish to swim by. Oh, it's time for the best part of the day, to make up a question and answer it while I wait on my hunt. Today's question is: What if I was at a famous show and was asked about myself? What would I say? “Cough, cough” I'm the sand tiger shark, and I’ve got a secret: I'm really good at hiding! Sometimes I dont hide and just like to swim around and show off my sharp teeth and cool body, but when I need to hide, I'm pretty darn good at it. I'm usually at the top of the food chain, but sometimes there are bigger sharks or people who want to catch me so I need to be careful. Shh, don't tell anyone, but sometimes I get scared too! When that happens, I quickly lie down on the ocean floor and stay suuuper still so I look like a rock. Here's something really awesome that only I can do and not other sharks: I can swim up to the surface and take a big puff of air, which helps me float without swimming. Then I can swim back down to the ocean floor and hold my position really still. When a yummy yummy snack swims by, I can surprise them and go right after them, adding some treats to my tummy tummy. How cool is that, right? Oh, shh I see somebody coming!
From one tree to another, I jump and leap into the soaring sky. I still have to keep going, my energy diminishing, as we all climb down and run. The 30 of us are collectively traveling but it’s not a vacation. It’s the game of our lives. The Most Dangerous Game. The Fossas quickly get hold one of us, and 2 of us are unfortunately gone. 30-2, is 28. Now the 28 of us are running as we find another tree, we all grab hold and start gripping each branch and start climbing while avoiding the claws and hisses of this catty brat. The Fossas claim 1 of our own and now it’s 27! We all make it and stay on it but that’s not all. The Fossas chip and punish this tree, and we’re all tumbling. We find anything that can help us. Ground skills, air skills, tree hollows, bodies of water. It all just slowed us down. Our adaptations reallyLast second we find a cave and stay put until we can stop hearing the Fossas linger around our area. As the remaining of us sit inside the cave it’s quiet. We all think to ourselves, but nothing hit that worse than me. “We adapted, but how were we still not fine? Why us? Is the cave suitable for us? What if the Fossas come back? Couldn’t we have just stayed in the air? Is there anything we could’ve done that would’ve saved our brethren? Why us that survived? Will we ever find home…?” A new day dawns, and we leave the cave to be introduced to a shiny mango yellow glow. The sunbathe is quiet, but the upcoming fossa isn’t…
Peeking through the frosted branches I see the rough grey fur of the dhole wolf down below. At first he was hard to see with all the snow but I spotted him just in time to run up this tree. “I hope he can’t see me.” I think to myself. Unfortunately it’s the middle of the winter and I don’t have any sheltering leaves to hide behind. I watch as his luminous yellow yet cold eyes squint in my direction before he trots away in the glimmering snow with a shake of his head. “That was a close one” I feel the cold rush as my tail brushes past the snowy white ground before I hear a sound. My instinct is to climb all the way back up into the branches and when I get to the highest point I take a look down to see the wolf nose pointed towards my direction, pointy teeth emerging from his mouth and his front paws rested on the trunk of the tree. My heart beats faster as I think of how close I was to the wolf catching me.
