“Abra cadabra” and just like that magic is done. Atheris’s hiding tactics are quite like magic, they can hide anywhere in their surroundings thanks to their leaf-like scales which help them camouflage almost anywhere. In a battle of hide & seek who would win a blue whale or atheris. So, the answer is simple atheris of course while a blue whale would be struggling to hide it’s massive belly, atheris would be long gone. A blue whale can only swim in the ocean (cold waters to be specific) but atheris can swim and crawl both on land and water, giving it more room for hiding. Blue whale’s size is eye catching however atheris looks & skills are breathtaking.
It was once said by a legend that to be a great leader, you must not be afraid of anything that comes in your way and a blue whale perfectly fits that description. Being the largest and strongest animal in the world makes hiding look weak for it. But luckily no other animal on this planet has the capability to harm the astonishing blue whale’s leadership. Knowing that you have no threat in the wild is great but not for an atheris snake. An atheris snake is always at risk of getting captured by its primary consumer(top of the food chain animal) the hawk, owl, and the fox. If one of these animals sees an atheris snake wide open in the wild, the atheris snake will never make it out alive. The atheris snake is so weak that if it goes out in the open it will be devoured(eaten). Blue whales are the exact opposite. They have no fear in the seas. When a calf(baby whale) feels threatened, it will just make loud noises or leap out of the water and land with a noise splash. The particular reason for this circumstance is so that other whales can come and stay close to the calf(baby whale) and that way it won’t feel threatened. In the great blue sea, the blue whale is heard breathing from 800 meters away. This protects other animals from getting killed by it. A blue whale’s body is just like an airplane. It is streamlined so water can flow very smoothly making it travel faster than most animals. Blue whales move left and right using their car size flippers(arms)and go up/down with their horizontal flukes(tail). These structural adaptations are priceless(amazing) but using them to try to hide in the environment is the last thing it will ever do. They don’t need to blend in the sea like the atheris snake does in the wild. It has no worries of getting eaten alive along the lines of the atheris snake. To sum up what has been stated so far, The blue whale dominates everything and doesn't need to hide from other animals. A 16-22 inch snake has no capabilities to outsmart a 100-foot blue whale. Blue whales don't need to hide in the sea, that's how superior they are.
