“Why is the Polar Bear the most important animal in its niche?” “Why will the ecosystem fail to function properly if the Polar Bear is removed from the food chain?” And even some questions such as, “Why is the Polar Bear ten times more important than the lynx when it comes to being involved in their food chain?” can be answered easily and simply.
Being a keystone(most important) species, Polar Bears keep biological populations in check. Without them, seals would face a crisis of overpopulation, fish would be at the brink of extinction since they are the primary food source of seals, and many other species such as arctic birds and snowy owls, who are solely dependent on Polar Bears, will start to meet their demise as well. If fish become critically endangered, it will slam numerous other species and even humans with threatening challenges since many of us also rely on fish as a source of food to survive.
Unlike the generic polar bear that regularly hunts fish and seals, animals that are unable to fight back (HOW BORING). The slick Russian Predator does not care what comes in its way. Just know whatever animal dares to mess with this vicious beast will certainly turn into lunch. Although the Lynx Is a tertiary consumer meaning It is an animal that consumes either primary and secondary consumers to have its nutrients. This clever cat can strategically stalk and assassinate a fully grown and healthy wolf! You might be doubting its ability to kill a wolf because they are known to travel in packs. Well that is not always true, wolves aren't always with their group and the intelligent and immensely agile kitty takes full advantage of that. The wolf is on the top of the food chain accompanied with the brown bear in their region. Even the brown bear doesn't want any problems with the lynx. This meat eating barbarian loves hunting in the bitter cold winters of mother Russia, making its every victim vulnerable in the deep and thick snow. It is a highly efficient animal on snow. The Siberian Lynxes' favorite meals are deer, red foxes, hares, rabbit, musk's and many more. What a variety of food, dissimilar to the polar bear that just eats sea food all day. Like go hunt an actual mammal, get a little diversity in your taste buds. The Siberian monster does not have any main predators, which doesn't surprise me at all. I would not want to be on the receiving end of its vigorous bite (115 pound bite force!). It would annihilate anyone that tries to mess with it in its region. Intruding this cats territory would be the last thing you do before your 6 feet under. This mammal is crucially important to the ecosystem. Without this majestic creature the vast broadleaf boreal forests of Russia would be heavily infested with primary and secondary consumers, due to the lack of its army of 22,510 ruling the forests of Russian (Lynx- 80k〡Polar bear- 20k population worldwide). Overall this animal is a highly important asset to its area and its food chain.
Why is the golden eagle the most important animal in the niche/habitat/food chain?
The golden eagle is important to the food chain because without the golden eagle the food chain couldn't be complete and all the other animals in the food chain will be mixed up. If the golden eagle did not complete the food chain it would affect the other animal. It wouldn't be called a food chain if all the animals did not complete it. It might affect us because we need some animals dead and some alive for us to live. They have to put the golden eagle in the food chain because the golden eagle is a strong and fierce eagle and he eats the grass eating animal for example: hares, squirrels, and marmots.
The golden eagle is important to the niche and the habitat because it controls the ground and all the grass eating animals. If there was no golden eagle all the grass eating animals will eat all the grass and there won't be enough plants. The balance between oxygen and carbon dioxide will be destroyed. That's what makes the golden eagle at the top of the food chain because it protects the environment compared to the Peregrine Falcon. It's not at the top, it's near to the top but not at the top. The peregrine falcon does not eat grass eating animals so it doesn't deserve to be at the top that's why its near to the top but not there.
I am going to start off by saying that even though the golden eagle is one of the special few that can take down an adult peregrine falcon, I still play an important role in my habitat by keeping the population of my food sources from spiraling and reducing the amount of their prey from decreasing. In other words I keep my niche from becoming unbalanced and ending up out of control. Helping humans isn't intentional but I do help them by eating animals and insects such as deer, wild boars, rabbits, moles, caterpillars, grasshoppers, locusts and many more that all feed on crops at their farms. It ends up becoming a win-win situation where I get food and they get their farms protected.
