how does a coyote adapt in its environment?
Coyotes can adapt to their environment in plenty of different ways. One way is that they camouflage into their surroundings,There fur can change from brown to light brown to gray.
They are prey to some animals so they have to be able to hide so they don’t become food.
Coyotes can run up to 40mph.

Describe the relative abundance of a coyote...is it threatened? Endangered? Extirpated from an area?
Coyotes are always on the run from their prey. That's what makes them such good sneaking and hiding experts.
There fur can change colours depending on their environment.
Coyotes face predators like bears, wolves and mountain lions.
They aren’t threatened but they have to stay on the run from their predators.
They can move from area to area depending on changes in environment.

Describe the niche of a coyote
A coyotes diet consists of,insects, lizards, snakes, birds, rodents, rabbits, carrion, fruits, nuts, grass and along with anything that can be chewed up.
Coyotes live in North America,USA,Mexico and Central America.
Coyotes adapt to their environment depending on what food is there.
They can adapt to any environment. They can adapt from a sandy desert to a snowy mountain top.
They have a broader niche because it is easier for them to adapt to their environment and different kinds of habitats.

Is a coyote a GENERALIST (having a broad niche) or a SPECIALIST (having a narrow niche)? Provide a map that illustrates you know the difference between these two terms
A coyote is a generalist with a broad niche.
It is able to adapt and live in more environments.
Describe a coyote’s ability to adapt to changes in the environment (Describe what ‘change’ is ACTUALLY occuring in the environment!). Is it human caused? Natural? Be specific!
Coyotes adapt to the way they hunt depending on what food is available.
So when they try to hunt small prey they stalk it and then pounce it.
If they see a bigger prey they will usually hunt in a small group.
Coyotes are very good at adapting to their environment. That's why they can move around a lot.
When they live in the forest if it snows they can stay because there skin is very thick and can change from brown to gray to white.
They are not picky eaters so they eat a wide variety of food.
Describe any “defenses” a coyote may have against predators and/or how your organism attacks its prey/gets its food
Coyotes use their agility speed, keen vision, hearing and sense of smell to protect itself.coyote often hunt in paris and small pack then they hunt by themselves they usually hunt small animals but hunt in groups they hunt big strong animals.coyote can run at a speed of 40 mph to flee away from their prey

Describe any example of your organism participating in a symbiotic relationship. This includes:
Coyote and badgers-mutualism-the badger and the coyote often hunt together side by side. They both benefit because both get food
Coyote and ticks-parasitism-the tick feeds on and lives on the coyotes. This benefits the tic but can harm the coyotes
Coyote and vultures-commensalism-the badger hunts and eats, and leaves it scraps. The vulture feed on the scraps.the vulture is benefits and the coyote are unaffected
Commensalism:a relationship between two organisms when one benefits and the is unaffected
Parasitism: a relationship between two oragisms when on benefits and the other is harmed
Mutualism: a relationship between two organisms where both benefits
How is a coyote important to its niche?
A coyote is important to its niche in a lot of different ways.
Coyotes help keep a balanced ecosystem in the environment.
Coyotes help control the species diversity by eating off the snakes and rodents.
And they are also on the top of the food chain so they can basically control all the animals that consist of foxes, racoons, possums and skunks.
Research shows that when there is a decline in coyotes in a specific area rodents and insects tend to appear more eating away at the plants.
Coyotes don’t overfeed on food in a specific area, they are not picky eaters.
They help the environment by not eating away at a single food source.

How do coyotes adapt to changes in there niche?
In the winter, coyotes adapt to their environment in a couple ways.
One way is that they grow a new warmer coat of fur on there body to make them warmer.
Also when the food runs short and the deers and other big animals are available the coyotes find their prey in a pack, like wolves.
Once summer rolls around coyotes fur will often change colours from a dark brown to a lighter brown colour.
Coyotes move around a lot, they can stay in urban landscapes and can survive on carbage and rodents.
As of this year 55% of the population lives in urban areas.
68% of the world's population is too live in urban areas by 2050.
So that means coyotes niche is getting cut down every day.
But coyotes can adapt to their environment wherever they are.
they found that out of the 96 cities in the US, 91% of those cities are home to coyotes in urban areas.
One of the ways coyotes are so successful when adapting to change is there diet.
Coyotes will eat just about anything, from sheep and deer to garbage left on the street. That is coyote can live in big cities like New York and Denver, because they will just eat plain garbage left on the side of the street.
