Cheetah's fur is covered in solid black spots, and so is their skin! The black fur actually grows out of black spots on their skin. They uses their spotted coat that blend with tall, dry grass of the plains so thier prey can have a hard time noticcing them.
Their known as the fastest mammal and this are the reasons why. They have special cleat feet it's a semi non-retractable claws almost like a dog claw but it work like a cleats on a football shoe to give them a lot of traction when running. Most of the cats has a soft paws, but cheetahs pads are hard like a rubber on a tire.It helps them grip the ground when they are running so fast.
Tail like a rudder.Their tail are long, muscular tail that has a flat shape. The tail almost function like a rudder on a boat because they use it to keep control their steering and keep their balance specially when their running very fast.
You can find cheetahs in some part of Asia but most likely in Africa because they live and hunt mainly in open grassland and bushy areas in parts of Africa and the Middle East.It helps them use their hunt because they can use their speed freely.
It was once found throughout Asia and Africa, but sadly cheetahs today are racing towards extinction because of their loss habitats and declining numbers of their prey combine to threaten the future of these cats.
Cheetahs and other predators help limit the growth of prey populations and prevent overgrazing of ranges. While human hunters can sometimes replace predators in the control of antelope populations, they generally do not remove the injured, sick, or older animals. Predators play an important role in maintaining healthy prey populations.
The cheetah is a valuable member of its community. In addition to its role as a predator, cheetahs feed other animals, such as vultures, jackals, beetles, and other scavengers. After a cheetah kills an animal it usually begins eating at the hind quarters, which provide the greatest amount of meat. Because the cheetah is not an aggressive carnivore, larger predators, as well as jackals and vultures, can scare the cheetah off its kill. By leaving the remains of a carcass, the cheetah feeds other animals in the ecosystem.
A recent study has shown that today there are only as few as 6,800 cheetahs remaining in wild Africa. In Iran, there are only an estimated 50 individual cheetahs left living in small in 2018 and it continues to drop , isolated populations, with as little as 2 known females. Cheetahs are the most endangered big cat in Africa.
